PestNu engaged with key F2F stakeholders in San Javier, Spain

Project Coordinator, Dr Ria Pechlivani (CERTH), along with her colleague Nikolaos Giakoumoglou, visited CDTA’s open field facilities to meet with the Councilor for Agriculture of San Javier Sergio Martínez Ros, the CDTA’s President Juan Carlos Madrid, Tilamur’s CEO Mariano Vidal and Fertinagro’s representative Joaquín Llamas to discuss the importance of saving water in the Region of Murcia in a systemic way with PestNu innovations.

This gathering enhanced collaboration among diverse stakeholders including political figures, agricultural cooperatives, and experts in precision agriculture and bio-products. Their combined expertise proved invaluable in addressing the unique regulations surrounding the Cartagena region, especially in light of the water pollution issues impacting the beautiful Mar Menor.

Interesting discussions took place as participants assessed the promising outcomes achieved through CDTA’s experimental plots. They explored the potential of cutting-edge biofertilizer and biostimulant products developed by Spanish partners Fertinagro and Neoalgae. Additionally, they delved into the utilization of digital and space-based technologies alongside the expansion of agro-ecological practices within the project.

Productive discussions have set the ground for advancing the development of new and evolving regulations. These regulations will serve as a driving force, urging all stakeholders to embrace sustainability in organic and smart agriculture, and also boost their acceptance, adoption, and regular usage among farmers.
