The PestNu project’s Final Workshop, held at the SEDIGEP Sotiras facilities in Cyprus, on July 18th, 2024, was a remarkable success. Organized by the esteemed consortium partner STRATAGEM, the event provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s achievements.
During the workshop presentations on all the technologies developed throughout the PestNu project were featured, highlighting their effectiveness and results. A significant moment of the event was the live demonstration of the innovative AI robotic trap, showcasing its functionality in capturing insects such as Tuta Absoluta, black aphids and white flies. PestNu consortium partners SIDROCO HOLDINGS LTD and CERTH participates physically, and UTH participated in a hybrid mode, giving enlighting presentations about the technologies.
The Participants had the unique opportunity to engage with the latest advancements in pest management technology. The workshop fostered insightful discussions among participants and the consortium members, about the prevention of the incect of Tuta Absoluta, which is a hot topic this period in Cyprus.
The workshop attracted more than 45 professionals from the field and the public authorities including farmers, agronomists, agriculture associations representatives, journalists, and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Cyprus and the Regional Agriculture Authorities.
Overall, the event not only highlighted the project’s successful outcomes but also encouraged collaborative dialogue on the current and future needs of the cypriot agriculture community, providing inspiration for possible future innovations.
