We are honored to share that APEMETA actively participated in the International Conference ‘Towards halving food waste in Europe’ at CHV Noordkade Veghel in the Netherlands, on June 18 and 19, 2024.
This event, organized by Food Waste Free United brought together over 350 participants from 33 countries comprising representatives of companies, public and scientific organizations and civil society. Additionally, the conference comprehended an agenda with over 50 experts sharing best practices, in an extensive plenary program and eight breakout sessions for a deep dive into more specific subjects.
On the first day of the conference, APEMETA showcased PestNu main challenges and policy needs being present with a poster at the exhibition space for Policy & Legislation and also contributing with inputs to the brief presentation given by a sister project in the breakout session devoted to this theme.
On the second day, APEMETA participated on one of the six fieldtrips, devoted to the theme of retail food waste reduction and influencing consumer behavior, and visited different companies and organisations, witnessing practical solutions and innovations to reduce food waste and bringing insights to the PestNu partners.
